Galloway Country Style
At Galloway Country Style you will see a building which started its life in 1787 as a tannery, when Gatehouse was on the threshold of its industrial period. In 1989 most of the tannery, by then a disused garage, was completely demolished and rebuilt to form the building which now stands today.
Galloway Country Style opened its doors during Easter 1992. The tanner's cottage was taken in during 1994 and the well known kilt making firm of J McDavid & Son was incorporated into Galloway Country Style, where visitors are welcome to watch the resident kilt makers at work and view our display boards, which tell the story of kilts and how to make them. To enhance your made-to-measure kilt, we also have a full range of kilt accessories to choose from.
Lily Fashion Accessories
Lily opened in February 2005. We stock a wide range of accessories, bags, footwear and jewellery suitable for both casual and formal wear. Our aim is to provide unique yet affordable items for all age ranges.
We also have an online shop with a selection of the products that are available in the shop, which is constantly updated as new stock is introduced.

Pat Abery cake making and decoration
Pat is an exceptional cake maker and decorator of cakes. Originally from York, Pat moved to Dumfries and Galloway seven years ago. Having done a short course while still at school, Pat really started icing again when her children were still very young. This soon led to friends and relatives asking for her to make and decorate special occasion cakes for them.
Pat attended evening classes at her local college in York to learn the art of making a variety of sugar flowers and sprays. She joined, and was soon an active member of the York Sugarcrafters Club where she gained more knowledge and technique of the craft and had a number of successful entries in local shows. After attending further courses run by the now well known Margaret Ford in the art of cold porcelain, she exhibited at the sugarcraft show organised by Celcraft at York Racecourse. Pat has developed her skills in both royal icing and in fondant or sugarpaste icing and has a flair for creating individually designed novelty cakes.

Diane has been hairdressing for 27 years, having trained in well established salons locally and at college. She has six years experience of mobile wedding work, including make-up and beauty treatments which compliment the hairstyling.
