Delicious catering

From wedding cakes, canapes and chocolate fountains, to banquets and barbecues, let SW Scotland Events take the 'nightmare' out of catering!

Unless you know exactly what you want, most hotels simply provide the menus that suit them. We will work with your chosen venue or with a specialist caterer to put together the menu that you want, and that is unique for you.

Advising on bridal wear

  • Dresses for the bride and bridesmaids - to rent or buy? We'll guide you through the bridal shops' designs or you may want to design your own.
  • For the groom and best man, there are hundreds of tartans to choose from, and we may even have one with your name on it. Don't forget, there is always top hat and tails if you don't want to wear a kilt.
  • For all members of the bridal party, unique outfits from Dumfries and Galloway's upmarket clothiers. Stay in our guest house and visit the clothiers with Shirley.

Wedding stationery

We have our own unique stationery suppliers, providing outstanding designer items for all your wedding stationery, including:

  • invitations
  • order of service cards
  • table stationery

Photography & video

We can arrange:

  • the wedding photographer to record your special day
  • a video recording to treasure
  • copies for your family and friends

Memorable entertainment

We can arrange a master of ceremonies or toastmaster, and all sorts of entertainment, including:

  • cabarets and casinos
  • ceilidh bands and live groups (with music to suit every taste), discos and traditional Scottish pipers
  • magical treats, with a comedian/hypnotist, magician and fireworks
  • helicopters and hot air balloons (weather permitting)
  • plenty for the children, from clowns to face-painting

Looking great for the wedding

  • Arranging hairdressers and beauticians for nails and make-up - everything the bridal party needs for looking great on the big day.
  • Arranging times to suit the bride and bridesmaids, at the salon or your chosen venue, and times and places to suit the groom and best man.

Elegant flowers and decorations

We'll help you choose all the flowers for bouquets and buttonholes, for the venue and wedding breakfast table, and for extras, too, like 'thankyou' bouquets for your parents.

We can advise on the designs and types of flowers, favours and ribbons. If you want them to be keepsakes, we can arrange high quality, hand-made tartan flowers.

We can even help you enhance the display with an ice sculpture.

Convenient transport

We use the best firms to provide:

  • bridal cars-
    • chauffeur-driven, Daimler, Rolls Royce, Mercedes, luxury American stretch limo or vintage car
    • pony-and-trap, or horse-and-carriage with attendants dressed in livery (we can even arrange a glass coach for you)
  • taxis and other transport for your guests, from people-carriers to 54-seater coaches - the size of vehicle is no object

Comfortable accommodation

We can help and advise with:

  • finding good quality places for your guests to stay overnight (or longer)
  • booking accommodation with a four-poster or feature bed for the bride and groom on their wedding night
  • finding alternative accommodation for the groom the night before the big day
